“The house was lovely. Kitchen was great for any kind of cooking or meal prep. Both bedrooms comfortably air conditioned (a necessity). I would absolutely return. Perfect, isolated location despite the beach access path right next to the house. Gorgeous sunsets. ”

“We are in the 6th day of our week-long stay at Makana Akua and it is exactly like the advertisement: Nice house, nice furnishings, nice kitchen, nice backyard, beautiful views from the back porch and a spectacular location on the beach. Hanalei Bay is just 15 minutes away and it has safe surf.

Hanalei Bay, by the way, is a very nice Old Hawaiian town full of good places to eat and drink and the friendliest people I’ve met in a long while. Postcards and Baracuda topped our list of favorites.”

“My husband and I and another couple stayed at Makana Akua for a week in March. It was the PERFECT vacation spot for us. The house provided enough privacy for both couples. The amenities were wonderful, beautiful kitchen and family room and it was nice to have the grill available. The location was beautiful, just a few steps from the ocean and walking distance from a sweet coffee shop and restaurant.”

Walking to the majesty of the mountains and Tunnels Beach was just five minutes away. Property was beautiful and suited our needs exactly. We even barbecued on the grill one night. Air conditioning in the master suites made a huge difference to us and we would book it again! ”
